Keeping Your Restaurant Busy

As a restaurant owner, there aren't many things more challenging than keeping a steady stream of customers coming in through the front door. Unfortunately, these kinds of challenges can eventually arrest the cash flow of your business, which can cause all kinds of problems in the long run. About three months ago, I decided that it would be a good idea to start focusing more on my own restaurant so that I could improve things. I started small, by changing the way that our team handled a few things, and then eventually worked towards reworking the entire menu. This blog is all about making your restaurant more profitable.

Italian Food Ideas For Special Events

Blog

When planning a special event, deciding on a type of cuisine and a menu is most likely at the top of your "to-do" list. If you're looking for one type of food to please a large crowd that includes people of all ages, you can't go wrong with Italian cuisine, which encompasses everything from tasty appetizers to delectable desserts.

Italian cuisine, which is based on a Mediterranean diet, is best known for mainstays such as pizza and gelato, but there are many other options available. Whether you want to serve a casual meal or a full-course dinner at your party, you can do it with an Italian food-inspired menu.

A menu filled with Italian dishes is appropriate for a wide range of special events and occasions, such as kids' and adults' birthday celebrations, corporate and family holiday parties, graduation and anniversary soirees, family reunions, and bridal and baby showers. Have the meal catered by a professional catering company or your favorite local Italian food restaurant to save time in the kitchen.

Here are some Italian food ideas for your next event:

1. Build-Your-Own Pizza Buffet

If you're looking for a meal that will appeal to guests of all ages and you can serve both indoors and out, set up a build-your-own pizza buffet. A buffet is especially ideal for casual gatherings, as well as kids' parties, as the young guests will have fun getting hands-on with their lunch or dinner.

Have the restaurant or catering company provide individually sized pizza dough, or halved English muffins for youngsters, as well as tomato sauce and a variety of traditional and gourmet toppings. Instruct guests to move down the table, creating their perfect pie as they go. Some topping ideas include pepperoni, cooked ground Italian sausage, diced tomatoes and onions, and sliced black olives and mushrooms.

Prepare the mini pizzas in small ovens, or if you're holding an outdoor event, on a wood-fired grill. Send guests home with leftovers in personalized pizza boxes featuring the event details.

2. Pasta Bar

Treat guests to a fresh pasta bar filled with a variety of favorite types, including spaghetti, penne, macaroni, rigatoni, and farfalle. In addition to the pasta, provide a few different types of sauces, such as homemade pesto, marinara, and creamy Alfredo.

Give party-goers the choice of add-in ingredients so that they can completely customize their pasta dishes. Some ideas include Italian sausage, sauteed vegetables such as broccoli, mushrooms, green beans, and diced tomatoes. Don't forget the freshly grated Parmesan and basil leaves for topping.
